Brisk walk..Is it really effective?

A brisk walk is a relative term, since “brisk” for some, is either slow or quite speedy for others, depending on levels of fitness. One measure to quantify brisk walking is “steps per minute,” and 100 steps per minute is considered moderate intensity or brisk walking.

Here how to tell if you are doing it properly?
If you are on a brisk walk and you don't feel your heartbeat slightly elevated or perhaps slightly sweaty then you need to quicken your pace a little more without breaking or stopping for a lengthy period and you should still be able to hold a conversation with your partner moving at the same pace, but  you should not being able to sing. Lol!!

The proper form for brisk walking is to stand up straight, bend your elbows and relax your shoulders. Look straight ahead and start walking, heal to toe. Move your arms forward and back as you walk. Relax your hands instead of clenching your fists.

So the question foremost in our minds is:  How effective is brisk walk for weight loss compared to  jogging the counterpart?

It is a known fact that  walking and running both help reduce your risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. Walking, however, is more accessible to a larger percentage of people.

Can you lose belly fat by walking?
However, the distance you walk is equally important in losing belly fat. A regular, slow walk will burn about three quarters of a calorie per kilogram of body weight. This would be about 70 calories a mile if you weigh 200 pounds. A fast, brisk walk will burn about 125 calories a mile if you weigh 200 pounds.

Walking can help you to control your waistline, blood pressure and the risk of type 2 diabetes. And it does not cost a penny to start. Once it is incorporated in your daily routine perhaps walking for 30 to 40 minutes in a day, you will start to look / feel healthier.
Once the level of fitness is increased, walking becomes less effective so you might have to increase the intensity and also add running and other cardio exercises to burn fat quickly for weight loss.

So Yes, brisk walk is a good place to start for less active persons and it  is really effective for weight loss when done religiously. All you need is a good pair of jogging shoes and sweatpants and you are set to go!!

The gospel truth : Is that You can exercise for hours, but if your daily calorie intake from food is more than your body’s daily calorie need, you will not lose weight. To lose weight, you need to take in fewer calories than your body burns. By doing this, your body will start burning its stored energy, or fat, to make up the energy difference. Exercising will increase your body’s daily energy demand, but to lose weight, you still need to take in fewer calories.
