Tiger Nuts..Super Food?

A super food and an African delight?
Is it actually a Nut? No it is not.
Tiger nut are small,tuberous rhizomes of a sedge grass(cyperus esculentus lativum) that's been cultivated for millennia around the world. It is largely unknown but in recent years it is gaining widespread popularity in many African countries and even down into Spain where it is known as "Chufa".

Could be eaten as peeled or unpeeled, in roasted or fresh form and tastes just like a blend of almond and coconut.
In northern Nigeria, it is used in making a sweet drink that is taken all over Nigeria. It is important for one to note that one should chew and swallow the chaff of Tiger nuts, because this chaff serves as roughage which helps your digestive system to function properly.
