How do I eat cucumbers?

 Cucumbers? Is cucumber a fruit or vegetable?
Most people  have likely asked this question at one time or the other including I.

Scientifically, Cucumber is classified as a fruit but it can be eaten and prepared just like any other vegetable in the kitchen. Sounds great!!

Whether this fruit is a vegetable or fruit it is pretty healthy because it contain multiple B vitamins, including vitamin B1, vitamin B5, and vitamin B7 (biotin). B vitamins are known to help ease feelings of anxiety and buffer some of the damaging effects of stress.

Can I cook/ fry Cucumbers?

Cucumber can be pretty boring if just eaten like a snack or an apple but thankfully in the kitchen cucumber can be prepared in different ways :

1. Stir fry: Heat a wok or large frying pan over a high heat and add the oil. When the oil is smoking, add the garlic, ginger and spring onions and stir-fry for about 30 seconds. Add the cucumbers, chili flakes, sugar and a little seasoning, and cook for a further 30 seconds, tossing until everything is well mixed.

2.Baking: Toss the cucumbers in a baking dish with the butter, herbs, scallions and pepper. Set uncovered in the middle level of the preheated oven for about an hour, tossing 2-3 times, until cucumbers are tender, but still have a suggestion of crispiness and texture. They will barely color during cooking.

Salad: Add Cucumber to vegetable, shrimps, chicken or tuna salads.

4. Drink them. Cucumbers contain a high percentage of water already, so they are naturally refreshing. Slices added to water will make you feel like you’re having a spa day

5. Coleslaw.  Mix in thin slices of peel seeded cucumber for a nice addition in coleslaw.

And so much benefits exist from consuming cucumber as they are rich in two of the most basic elements needed for healthy digestion: water and fiber.
